What tests do I put your music through?

Every mastering project starts here. Headphones allow me to hear every single part of the song with great detail and tune the sound to perfection. This gives me a great base for when I continue to put the song through the rest of the tests.

After I have created a good sounding master through headphones, its then time to listen to the master through my audio monitors to hear how the song sounds in a room environment. This allows me to hear certain imperfections that I simply cant hear through headphones, and makes sure that your song sounds great when played in a group setting.

After the master is sounding good on speakers in a room environment, its then time to listen to the song in the car. This is where even great sounding songs can be made to sound terrible. Did you know that 34% of streams on Spotify come from people listening in their car? Thats why it is so important that this step isnt missed.

The final and most important test is the phone test. Phone speakers are how people are going to listen to your music most of the time. This is why its very important to make sure your song sounds great through your phone, and also doesnt sound horrible once social media compression is added.
